New DALSA Cameras Demonstrate Advances in Colour, Speed and Performance at VISION 2007

Demonstrations of Falcon 1.4M100 and Genie Colour Cameras -- Hall 4, Booth 4D32

STUTTGART, GERMANY--(Marketwire - November 5, 2007) - At the VISION 2007 show here today, DALSA Corporation (TSX: DSA) showcased two new groundbreaking cameras for machine vision applications. The DALSA Falcon 1.4M100 area scan camera delivers excellent performance at high speeds and the Genie Series of GigE Vision-compliant digital cameras adds four new models for colour imaging. These new cameras, along with other DALSA solutions for analog and digital image acquisition, image analysis, and compact vision solutions, will be demonstrated at the show in Hall 4, at DALSA Booth 4D32.

DALSA's Area Scan Expertise

DALSA's Falcon 1.4M100 is a 1.4 mega pixel area camera that delivers an incredible 100 frames per second at full resolution in an ultra-compact body. The Falcon 1.4M100 is ideal for applications in electronics manufacturing and semiconductor inspection which require faster inspection rates and greater inspection accuracy. It uses DALSA's patented CMOS sensor technology delivering exemplary image quality at high speeds that exceed the needs of today's most demanding applications.

DALSA's Colour Technology

DALSA has added four new colour models of the GigE Vision-compliant Genie™ digital camera designed for industrial imaging applications. These area scan cameras feature a SONY CCD colour sensor with resolutions ranging from VGA to 1400 and operate at up to 64 frames per second (fps) in full resolution. The Genie colour cameras feature white balancing and advanced Bayer conversion are available in four models: C1400 (half inch sensor size), C1024 (one third inch sensor size) and the C640 available in both these sensor sizes.
