The New England Patriots and Fidelity Investments Present the "BELL Bowl" at Gillette Stadium to Benefit the BELL Summer Learning Program

Current and Former Patriots Players Will Coach a Corporate Flag Football Tournament to Benefit Tutoring Programs in Underserved Communities

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - November 2, 2007) - BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life) today announced the starting line-up for BELL Bowl, a charity football tournament to be played on Tuesday, November 6, at 6:00 PM, under the lights at Gillette Stadium. The event, sponsored by the New England Patriots and Fidelity Investments, will benefit BELL's nationally acclaimed summer school tutoring and enrichment program in Boston.

While the New England Patriots players are known for making plays on the field, at BELL Bowl, current and former players will try to emulate the Patriots' future Hall-of-Fame coach by patrolling the sidelines and calling the plays for this five-on-five flag-football tournament. These player/coaches will lead teams that include corporate executives, Harvard Fraternity members and Massachusetts legislators. Among the players scheduled to attend the event are starting defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, and Patriots legends Steve Grogan, Andre Tippett, Russ Francis, Roland James, John Smith and Peter Brock.

"We're delighted to host this important event," said Joshua Kraft, executive director of the New England Patriots Foundation. "The whole New England Patriots organization is excited about supporting the great work done by BELL on behalf of underserved kids in our public schools."

BELL Bowl is destined to become a favorite annual event in Boston, in which athletes, corporations and community members celebrate the city's world-class football tradition, while investing in life-changing educational programs for communities in need. In addition to the BELL Bowl partnership with the Patriots, BELL also has a partnership with the Boston Red Sox for their "Red Sox Scholars" program, which dates back to 2004.

"Professional sports are such an important part of the fabric of our community here in Boston, and the New England Patriots recognize their ability to rally support for those in need," said Earl Martin Phalen, CEO and Co-founder of BELL. "As lead sponsors of BELL Bowl, the Patriots and Fidelity Investments have made a tremendous commitment to educating, enriching, and changing the lives of children in underserved communities."

Fidelity Investments is a leading supporter of BELL, most recently sponsoring BELL Summer Learning programs throughout the city of Boston.

"There's nothing like a little friendly competition to bring out the best in people, and we're looking forward to a highly competitive and spirited group of players," noted Jennifer Brown, executive vice president at Fidelity. "BELL's Summer Learning initiative gets tremendous results for our kids, and we're sure this competition will only help further the reach and impact of this very important program."

BELL was founded in 1992 by a group of Black and Latino Harvard Law School students. Its K-6 students, which BELL calls "scholars," receive tutoring in reading, writing, and math, as well as enrichment activities to help scholars develop higher self-esteem. As a Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provider, BELL provides afterschool tutoring to eligible students under Federal No Child Left Behind legislation. Through private funding, BELL's afterschool programs offer more extensive, more robust and more effective tutoring and enrichment services than any other provider. In addition, BELL provides a summer school program that helps scholars continue to progress academically and personally, rather than backslide in their educational progress as many students do in the summer months.

In addition to Fidelity Investments and the New England Patriots, BELL Bowl sponsors include Target Corporation, Castanea Partners, State Street, Thomas H. Lee Partners, Sovereign Bank, Bulger Captial, and Tudor Investment Corporation.

While watching the on-the-field action at BELL Bowl, guests will enjoy a catered tailgate party with Patriots legends on the field at Gillette Stadium, an appearance by the New England Patriots Cheerleaders, exclusive tours of Gillette Stadium and the visiting team locker room, and a half-time program highlighting the successes of BELL scholars. Individual tickets are still available for $500 each, and can be purchased at the door on Tuesday or at
