New Leadership Team Committed to Continuing MCSC's Legacy and Investigation Service

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 8, 2010) - The Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC) is proud to officially announce the appointment of a new Executive Director, Amanda Pick. Following a lengthy period of planning, the appointment marks the transition of leadership from Ms. Rhonda Morgan, the organization's founder and previous Executive Director. Under the guidance of the organization's new Board of Directors, MCSC and its' new Executive Director are ready to continue to build on the legacy of reuniting families across this country and internationally.

Bruce Dunne, Chair of the Board of Directors stated: "Amanda brings a wealth of energy, experience and professional networks to the Missing Children Society of Canada, following in the footsteps of Ms. Rhonda Morgan. Her impressive history ranges across the non-profit and private sectors, providing leadership to groups such as the Wood's Homes Foundation and acting as the V.P. of Corporate Relations at experiential events."

"I am both excited and eager to take on the role of E.D. of MCSC. In the first few weeks, our team has drafted some new plans that will move MCSC's mission forward with great impact. Our mandate to the families we serve must be of the highest order and I can say without a doubt our unique team of dedicated and experienced investigators is our strength," concluded Amanda.

MCSC's hands-on approach has achieved success through its' 24-year history. The Missing Children Society of Canada has closed over 1,630 cases since 1986 - an average of 70 cases per year. In addition, MCSC has assisted law enforcement organizations in over 6,000 cases. This active investigative methodology distinguishes us from other organizations with similar mandates. MCSC is moving forward with very exciting plans and initiatives, from increasing our Special Investigations Unit, to introducing our Child Search Alerts into the world of social media, generating immediate and effective attention among the public and law enforcement communities to support our active search efforts.

"Our success will be judged on our efforts to bring closure to families who have searched for their missing children - we cannot fail them nor can we operate successfully without our greatest allies, law enforcement organizations and most importantly, our donors," said Amanda. She went on to say, "I am honoured to be part of this organization and the amazing work it does to support searching families and to actively investigate cases of missing children. We are excited for the future at MCSC, and we want to remind the communities throughout the country that we are still here."

Bruce Dunne and the entire Board of Directors congratulate Ms. Amanda Pick on her new appointment as the Executive Director of the Missing Children Society of Canada, and offer their on-going support.
