New President/COO of Bangor Hydro-Electric Company Named
BANGOR, Maine--(CCNMatthews - Sep 6, 2005) -
The Board of Directors for Bangor Hydro-Electric Company announced the appointment of Rob Bennett as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Bangor Hydro-Electric Company on September 1, 2005. Bennett joined the Company in May 2002 and has served as the General Manager of Transmission and Delivery Asset Management and most recently as Vice President and General Manager.
In his new position as President and COO, Bennett says he is committed to "elevating Bangor Hydro-Electric Company's presence in attracting economic development opportunities for the communities in which we serve."
Bennett's goals as the President of Bangor Hydro-Electric Company include elevating and promoting all safety matters; providing prudent and successful financial management; and creating an environment of superior customer service. "I'm excited to build upon the very strong foundation of Bangor Hydro-Electric Company and believe the people of this Company are of the highest caliber found anywhere within the industry. I'm proud to be leading an energetic team and look forward to becoming an industry leader in safety, customer service and financial management."
Prior to his positions at Bangor Hydro-Electric Company, Bennett held a variety of positions at Nova Scotia Power, Inc. These include: Regional Manager for the Northeastern Region, Staff Engineer, Protection Engineer, and Superintendent of Annapolis Hydro.
Bennett's commitment to Bangor Hydro-Electric Company's service area extends beyond his work within the utility company. Bennett serves on the Boards of the Bangor Y and the United Way of Eastern Maine. He is also a member of the United Way's Young Leaders Organization and serves as a Steering Committee Team member.
Bennett and his wife, Tracy, have two children, Emily and Scott. He and his family reside in Hampden.
