New Release: "Blood Stained," the Life of Serial Killer David Maust in Print and on Film

YORK, PA--(Marketwire - August 6, 2008) - The Book: "Blood Stained" promises to deliver a strong impact on society as a whole as it unravels the mysteries and truths behind serial killer David Maust. Author Dory Maust provides clear and concise detail into the sickened mind and actions of a man labeled "The Hammond Horror" who murdered five young boys and violently assaulted twelve others. David Maust died in January of 2006 in Lake County, Indiana after taking his own life in a jail cell, but what he left behind was a 1,255 page life confession which has never been available to the public. Powered by this dynamic resource and coupled with hundreds of other documents, Dory Maust has just completed the first draft of the manuscript. Contributors are Ron Johnson, the Hammond, Indiana detective who broke the final case, and Thomas Vanes, David's final defense attorney.

The Documentary: Dory Maust will be in the greater Chicago area the weekend of August 16, 2008 filming segments of a compelling visual account of David's life. Partnered with a film crew she will be speaking with locals to air their voices and opinions on what one proof reader calls a true American tragedy. On foot and on wheels, she hopes to delve deeper into the existence of the infamous murderer.

Fifty percent of "Blood Stained" proceeds will benefit Stand Up For Kids, a charity which fosters and cares for abandoned and abused children. The Dory Maust team mission statement in this project is to save lives by educating the public on why David killed; how it could have been prevented; and what society and law enforcement can do hand-in-hand to protect our children from becoming victims of such tragic degree.
