New Scalix 11.3 Release Supports Secure Access to All Versions of Outlook, Standards-Based Calendaring and More

Latest Award-Winning Scalix Enhancements Raise Bar for Exchange Alternatives

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 8, 2008) - Scalix, the premier Linux e-mail, calendaring and messaging company, today announced the release of Scalix 11.3, with enhanced support for all versions of Microsoft Outlook over SSL. This innovative upgrade effectively eliminates the need for a virtual private network connection. The new version of Scalix also provides support for the latest standards-based CalDAV calendaring interface (used by Apple iCal, Mozilla Sunbird, and others), improved support for Asian character sets, and a number of enhancements to the Scalix web access client.

"Scalix 11.3 again raises the bar among Exchange alternatives with flexible access for remote users of all versions of Outlook, including Outlook 2007. The adoption of hosted Scalix solutions has exceeded our expectations, and now that we can offer secure Outlook 2007 connections to a Scalix server without the use of VPN, we expect that trend to accelerate," said Andreas Typaldos, Xandros CEO. "We are also proud to be a leader in support for the latest standards-based calendar clients being developed by Apple and the open source community. This dual support for current and future infrastructures offers the ultimate in customer choice and simplifies the migration to open messaging solutions."
