New Year, New Interactive Agency, and a New Chance for a Local Oregon Organization

Blue Collar Interactive Launches With Campaign to Donate $20,000 in Free Interactive Marketing Services

HOOD RIVER, OR--(Marketwire - January 12, 2010) - Blue Collar (, a new full-service interactive marketing agency focused on delivering breakthrough creative work and honest client service, announced its official launch today. Opening up shop in Hood River, Ore., the agency intends to bring blue collar work ethic and values back to the agency-client relationship that has long suffered from compromised standards and unnecessary corporate infrastructure. Blue Collar's balanced suite of interactive marketing services provides clients with a one-stop shop that -- given the current economic climate -- is uniquely positioned to deliver great creative marketing solutions to large and mid-sized international companies for a smaller budget. To celebrate Blue Collar's grand opening and the New Year, they are also launching a month-long campaign to find a deserving local business or organization and award them with $20,000 in creative and interactive marketing services to help their business survive in 2010.

"Businesses both large and small are in survival mode during these challenging economic times and are looking for creative marketing solutions to help aid in their survival and growth," said Rob McCready, Co-Founder and Director of Account Services for Blue Collar. "We are a small and nimble full-service interactive marketing agency, ready to roll up our sleeves and work hard for our clients to deliver kick-ass creative and help them gain a competitive advantage."

The agency's three founders and senior partners bring over 35-years of collective big-agency creative and client service experience to Blue Collar. Rob McCready manages account services and comes from a ten-year tenure at Summit Projects, where he most recently served as Account Director. Having worked as a team for over 7 years, April Donovan and Tom Lehmann oversee creative services for the agency. Both have accumulated numerous creative awards and client experience with brands such as Nike Golf, Campbell's, Motorola, Dr. Martens, Subaru and Yogi Tea. Both Lehmann and Donovan also come from Summit Projects where they served as Creative Director and Art Director, respectively.

At the core of the agency's value system is carrying on the blue collar work ethic of their forefathers -- hard workers and creative problem solvers who weren't afraid to get "down and dirty" to get the job done. In celebration of the launch of the agency, the partners are standing behind these principles announcing a campaign to help the community they live and work in. The Blue Collar Creative Open House aims to find an Oregon-based business or organization that is most in need of creative and interactive marketing services and award them with a $20,000 services package (which can include digital strategy, creative and branding services). The package will be awarded to the most-deserving company based on their core values, commitment to community and any hardships they may be facing.

"We recognize that we are launching our business in uncertain economic times and rather than host a lavish launch party, we thought what better way to open up shop than by demonstrating how our creative services can help organizations gain a competitive advantage at a local level, in a community that we love," said April Donovan, Co-Founder and Director of Creative Services at Blue Collar. "We wanted to open our doors to the community because we love Oregon. We're proud to be here. And we're here to help."

The Blue Collar Creative Open House opens for submissions on Jan. 12, inviting Oregon-based businesses to submit a short 400-word essay to make their case for why an interactive plan and creative review will be a fundamental piece to getting them back on track in 2010. Blue Collar will accept submissions for two weeks, selecting the three most compelling essays. Voting will open to the public to choose the most deserving of the three selected organizations and the final winner will receive up to $20,000 worth of client and creative services from Blue Collar in 2010.
