New Yellow Pages Directories Land on Ottawa Doorsteps

Yellow Pages Group Encourages Citizens to Recycle Their Outdated Phone Books

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 9, 2008) - New Yellow Pages™ directories are being distributed in Ottawa, Gatineau and surrounding areas over the month of January. In the process, citizens and businesses are being asked to do their part to keep phone books out of the landfill.

"In line with our commitment to environmental protection, we are encouraging the people of Ottawa and surrounding areas to recycle last year's directories after receiving their new ones," underlines Annie Marsolais, Yellow Pages Group (YPG) Director of Corporate Communications. "This is an effort that is truly worthy of everyone's support and participation."

YPG now only distributes residential (white) directories every two years. Since the next residential pages will only be available in Ottawa January 2009, citizens should make sure to keep the version received last year.

To facilitate the recycling process, Ottawa residents and businesses are advised to take the following steps:

1. Remove the plastic bag containing the new directory.

2. Dispose of the outdated directory in the municipal recycling box (Yellow Pages™ directories are entirely recyclable).

3. Recycle the plastic bag that the new directory arrived in by dropping it off at a designated retailer location. A list of these locations is available on the City of Ottawa's web site at www.ottawa.ca/takeitback.

Citizens who need more information on recycling services can consult the 2008 Yellow Pages™ directory under "Recycling".

This 2008-2009 Yellow Pages™ directory edition includes A-Z business listings for the Ottawa-Gatineau Region, as well as a complete business classified section. In addition, it contains emergency and other important numbers, government resource listings, multiple maps, and a street index. The directory also comes with a local OttawaPlus City Guide featuring valuable information about local attractions and hot spots, and even tips on where to go for an enjoyable weekend getaway.

The wealth of companies listed in the print directory are searchable online as well at YellowPages.ca™. YPG's network of web sites encompasses Canada411.ca and OttawaPlus.ca™. In addition, the comprehensive Yellow Pages™ directory content is available free of charge through text messaging by texting YELLOW (935569), via cell phone by browsing mobile.yp.ca, and by instant messaging at poynt@yellowpages.ca.
