Wireless Project to Deliver Broadband Connectivity to Curitiba University in Parana and Surrounding Neighborhoods

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - December 24, 2007) - NewMarket Technology, Inc. (OTCBB: NMKT) today released a YouTube video on the public signing ceremony that was held in Curitiba, Brazil to formalize the previously announced contract with Associcao Paranaense De Cultura (APC) to deliver a municipal broadband wireless solution to Curitiba University (www.pucpr.br) and the surrounding neighborhoods. The APC (www.apc.com.br) is a Brazilian Company that manages universities, hospitals and radio stations.

The contract between APC and NewMarket is intended to build the Curitiba solution as a pilot to be subsequently expanded to additional cities throughout the Brazilian state of Parana. Curitiba is the largest city in Southern Brazil with a population estimated at over 3.5 million and is the capital of the state of Parana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curitiba). Additionally, Brazil's telecom regulator Anatel recently approved regulations to permit 5,561 Brazilian municipalities to offer Wi-Fi internet access.

The video is titled "NMKT - APC Curitiba Signing Ceremony for Municipal Wireless " and is now available on the Company's YouTube site at http://www.youtube.com/newmarkettechnology.

"Curitiba is known throughout Brazil as a leading city of innovation," said Bruce Noller, NewMarket Managing Director of Operations. "The City has won numerous awards for its public transportation system as well as the overall municipal planning. Nowhere is this spirit of innovation stronger than right here among the university executives and administration. This pilot project here in Curitiba will provide a proof-of-concept for multiple wireless broadband delivered applications delivering a host of community benefits."

NewMarket and APC have worked closely with Companhia Paranaense de Energia (COPEL) www.copel.com, the local provider of Electricity and Telecommunications. Frank Romanoski (NewMarket Latin America Board Member) said "COPEL has contributed notably to the realization of this contract in Curitiba, and we are grateful for their contributions. COPEL will be a cornerstone in the expansion of the Curitiba solution to additional cities throughout Parana. COPEL sees the wireless broadband solution as a platform for delivering new technologies solutions under development at COPEL to home and business customers."

The project is scheduled to be completed by February 29th, 2008.
