NexTone Earns Rural Utilities Service Acceptance for Its VoIP Session Border Controller and Multiprotocol Session Exchange Platform

Independent Operating Companies Can Now Purchase the NexTone IntelliConnect System Using RUS Financing

GAITHERSBURG, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 15, 2006 --

CORE NEWS FACTS

-- NexTone™, the leader in intelligent and scalable session management
solutions for IP and IMS network interconnects, today announced that its
IntelliConnect™ System has earned acceptance from the Rural Utilities
Service (RUS) branch of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

-- RUS acceptance makes it easier for the Independent Operating Companies
(IOCs), sometimes referred to as Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs),
servicing rural markets to extend VoIP services to all of their wireline
subscribers by using RUS financing to purchase and deploy NexTone's
IntelliConnect System, which includes its Session Border Controller (SBC)
for securing bilateral interconnects and the Multiprotocol Session Exchange
(MSX), a platform for interconnecting SIP and H.323 networks.

-- With NexTone's SBC and MSX, IOCs can manage all aspects of network
interconnects for real-time services and applications, including end-user
policies, securing softswitch infrastructure, service connectivity, multi-
vendor interoperability, and enforcement of VoIP SLAs.

-- NexTone's IntelliConnect System also enables IOCs to turn up services
and enter new markets quickly, including both residential and business
    customers.

-- Intelligent IP interconnects powered by the NexTone MSX enable IOCs to
expand the horizons of their customers by allowing the IOCs to peer with a
much larger community of carriers and Application Service Providers (ASPs).

-- The NexTone SBC and MSX products are listed in the "List of Materials
Acceptable for Use on Telecommunications Systems of RUS Borrowers," which
    can be found at www.usda.gov/rus/telecom/index.htm.

COMMENTARY
-- Michael McLaughlin, CEO, UNASAT - "Our traditional IOC customers want
to branch out of regulated technology and access the rest of the world, and
NexTone's IntelliConnect System enables them to use VoIP peering to quickly
connect with a wider set of carrier partners to offer more services at
lower costs. With NexTone's SBC and MSX products, our IOC customers can
meet all of their VoIP peering and trunking needs and maintain control of
the voice sessions running on their networks. This flexibility is opening
our customers' eyes about how they can quickly leverage VoIP to strengthen
their business, reach new markets, and increase ARPU."

-- Dan Dearing, vice president of Marketing, NexTone - "IOCs recognize
how important deploying reliable, high-quality VoIP services is to their
customers, and RUS acceptance of the NexTone SBC and MSX products is
critical to making our solution available to IOCs on a much broader scale.
RUS financing makes it even more affordable for IOCs to purchase and deploy
the NexTone IntelliConnect System to provide rural and remote areas with
the same new IP-based voice services as urban areas."
