Nike Bauer Hockey and CBC's HNIC help players “Think Hockey"

Leading hockey manufacturer to provide elite equipment for Hockey Night in Canada teaching segments

Attention: News Editor, Sports Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, NEWS RELEASE--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2007) - Nike Bauer Hockey, in an ongoing effort to support and grow the game of hockey, has partnered with CBC's Hockey Night in Canada to become the lead equipment supplier for its popular Think Hockey segments, which will air between periods on CBC during the 2007-08 NHL season, starting Saturday night.

Nike Bauer Hockey outfitted more than a dozen 14-15-year olds participating in the sessions and provided skaters with its top-of-the-line equipment, including Nike Bauer 5500 and 8500 helmets, Supreme One90 gloves and pants, and the revolutionary Vapor XXXX skates. Nike Bauer also supplied the goal equipment, as well as top-end sticks and gloves for the high profile guest coaches that include Paul Maurice, Adam Graves, Craig Mactavish, Larry Murphy and Lindy Ruff.

"This year's Think Hockey initiative is an extraordinary opportunity for us to be on the ice with young players as they grow and learn from some of the game's best hockey minds," said Mark Duggan, President and CEO, Nike Bauer Hockey. "Without a doubt, they will be able take what they learn from this experience and apply it to their early, amateur careers and we're excited to play a part in developing their game by providing them the best possible equipment."

Each Think Hockey segment, now in its second season, will feature Ron MacLean joined by well-known hockey experts as they present skills, tips, and advice designed to help develop a more complete hockey player. The concept will then be played out by the kids. A total of 60 segments, at 90 seconds each, will be produced and aired during the NHL season.

"It's great to have one of the game's best equipment manufacturers step up and support this engaging and insightful initiative," said Joel Darling, Director of Production for CBC Sports. "This type of partnership is critical to creating and airing these segments as well as ensuring the kids have the right equipment to maximize their game."
