Nimsoft Selected by Ingram Micro Seismic for Use in Larger, More Complex IT Infrastructures
Nimsoft Monitoring Solution Chosen by World's Largest IT Distributor to Support Managed Service Providers Selling to Mid and Large Enterprises
REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - August 31, 2009) - Nimsoft, the "Big 4" alternative for IT
performance and availability monitoring solutions, today announced that
Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) will be featuring the Nimsoft Monitoring
Solution (NMS) in its Seismic managed services offering, equipping medium
and large VARs and MSPs with the robust monitoring capabilities they need
to grow their businesses.
Seismic is a comprehensive managed service portfolio that includes all the
infrastructure and capabilities that VARs need to deliver proactive remote
monitoring, managed security, business continuity services and the like to
clients. With Seismic, VARs can introduce or expand managed services,
quickly, conveniently, and cost effectively. Seismic provides a unique
business advantage to channel partners, enabling them to earn higher
margins, deliver enhanced value to clients, and build a collaborative and
profitable managed services practice.
"Ingram Micro's Seismic offerings represent a promising opportunity for
companies that are delivering managed services or looking to become managed
service providers," said Dennis Callaghan, enterprise software analyst at
The 451 Group. "With Seismic, the barrier for entry into adding or
enhancing the managed services model is reduced. The addition of Nimsoft to
this program will provide new options for VARs and MSPs as they seek to
scale their businesses."
Under the new alliance, Ingram Micro North America will bring NMS to
market. The new offering, called Seismic Enterprise Monitoring powered by
Nimsoft, is now available to Ingram Micro channel partners in the U.S. and
Canada. With NMS, customers can proactively monitor applications, servers,
databases, and networks. In addition, customers will be able to use
Nimsoft's Service Delivery Portal (SDP) as their key customer visualization
"Nimsoft solutions are rapidly emerging as the de facto standard for
successful MSPs that are looking to speed their growth," explained Gary
Read, president and CEO of Nimsoft. "Many MSP customers have recently
standardized on Nimsoft, which now has over 250 MSPs customers world wide,
and this new alliance will further fuel expansion in this market. We're
excited to be a part of the Seismic offering, and are already seeing
tremendous interest from Ingram Micro's existing VAR and MSP partners who
are actively selling into the mid-market and enterprise."
Highly robust remote monitoring capabilities are a critical requirement,
both for MSPs that have a large collection of smaller customers, and for
MSPs looking to serve the larger, more complex environments of mid-market
organizations and enterprises. These larger organizations typically have
large, heterogeneous environments that are relied on for an array of
business critical services and have adopted such emerging technologies as
virtualization, unified messaging, and cloud computing. Ingram Micro
selected the Nimsoft solution specifically for their strengths in serving
these demanding environments.
"Many of our Seismic partners are looking for a complementary availability
monitoring and alerting solution that would allow them to scale their
services and remotely monitor both physical and virtual network
infrastructures with ease and efficiency," explained Justin Crotty, vice
president, services, Ingram Micro North America. "With the new Seismic
Enterprise Monitoring powered by Nimsoft, our partners are able to extend
their value and services to mid-size and large enterprise clients without
compromising profitability and performance."
