Nomura Hires Chief Economist for Europe From Bank of England

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Oct. 7, 2009) - Nomura, the preeminent Asian-based investment bank, today announces the hire of Peter Westaway as Chief Economist Europe, based in London. Peter will be responsible for running the European economic research team and will also assume leading coverage of UK economic research.

Before joining Nomura, Peter worked at the Bank of England for 13 years in senior roles, covering macro economic forecasting, policy and financial market analysis. He has also held prior roles at the UK Treasury and National Institute of Economic and Social Research.
