Northern Star Announces Management Changes

VAL D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 23, 2010) - Northern Star Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NSM)(OTCQX:NSMSF) ("NSM" or the "Company") announces that Michel David has resigned as Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of NSM effective immediately. Mr. David will continue on as a director of the Company.

The Company has appointed Jonathan Awde, Vice-President, Corporate Finance, to serve as interim President and CEO of NSM. Mr. Awde has extensive financial experience and been instrumental in helping to raise over $80 million for the Company since joining the board of directors in 2007.

The Board is also reviewing NSM's overall personnel requirements with a view to expanding development of the Company's Midway gold project in Val d'Or, Quebec and fulfiling its goals of becoming a mid-tier gold producer and maximizing shareholder value. Further management related announcements are expected in the near term.
