O Bee Credit Union Is Given National Award in Washington, DC

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - March 24, 2010) -  O Bee Credit Union (Tumwater, WA) was awarded the National Dora Maxwell Award in Washington, DC on February 24th, 2010 for its involvement in projects and activities that have a positive social impact in the community. Accepting the award for O Bee Credit Union was Lee Wojnar, VP of Marketing; also at the award reception was John Annaloro, President/CEO of the Washington Credit Union League

About the Dora Maxwell Award
Dora Maxwell was a pioneer in the American credit union movement. In the 1920s she served on the first board of directors at the New York State Credit Union League, and in 1931 helped to organize the Credit Union National Extension Bureau, which later became the Credit Union National Association. In addition to organizing hundreds of credit unions, Maxwell developed volunteer credit union organizations to help improve the living standards of the poor and needy.

About O Bee Credit Union
 
O Bee Credit Union ("The Olympia Brewing Company Employees and Families Credit Union") was started on February 15, 1955 by Ted McGill, a worker in the bottle house of the Brewery. This full service, non-profit credit union is owned by its members and is now open to all Washington residents with locations in Tumwater, Tenino, and Hawks Prairie.
