OC METRO BUSINESS Magazine Honors 2007 'Hot 25' Tonight

Winners Include the Most Forward-Thinking Individuals in the County

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - October 25, 2007) - Twenty-five of the most diverse and cutting-edge people in Orange County will gather tonight in Newport Beach for one of the coolest events of the year. OC METRO BUSINESS Magazine is once again spotlighting the 2007 Hottest 25 People in O.C.

OC METRO, along with Title Sponsor The Waltos Group of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, is presenting the "Hot 25 Awards" during a special event at Newport Lexus tonight to such outstanding individuals as Tracy Caldwell, NASA astronaut who flew on the Endeavour mission; Jose Mota, major leaguer turned LA Angels broadcaster; William Wang, founder and CEO of Vizio, one of America's fastest-growing flat-panel HDTV brands; and Wyland, renowned artist known for painting 95 "Whaling Wall" murals throughout the world.

Since 1990, OC METRO, the flagship magazine of Churm Media, has highlighted 25 individuals each year who are making a splash in one of the fastest-growing counties in Southern California. OC METRO published its annual issue Thursday, Oct. 25, featuring profiles and photos of this year's Hot 25.

An awards committee evaluates more than 150 nominations each year, narrowing the list to those making the biggest impacts in a number of different facets within the community to create the Hot 25. Some are well-established movers and shakers; others are new to the horizon, but already demonstrating leadership and influence in the community.

This year, honorees represent the worlds of business, music, higher education, hospitality, non-profit, IT, science and retail. The Hot 25 event attracts some of O.C.'s most successful and influential businesses as sponsors. Gold Sponsors this year are Sunwest Bank, The Irvine Company, BCS Business Communications Solutions, The OC Pavilion and The Residence Club at PGA West, plus an array of silver and bronze sponsors.

"The Hot 25 has become a tradition with a special issue of OC METRO and event that celebrates the strengths and diversity of Orange County as one of the world's most dynamic marketplaces and communities," said Steve Churm, publisher of OC METRO and owner of Churm Media since 1990. "It's truly exciting to bring so many interesting difference makers together in print and in person. The result is very inspiring."
