(OTC: AFTC) Leveraging Its Army Contract

NOTE TO EDITORS: The Following Is an Investment Opinion Being Issued by the IO News Wire.

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 20, 2010) - Alternative Fuel Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AFTC) announced yesterday that they have received a $50,000 option to their Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract with the US Army.

Dimethyl Ether (DME) has potential applications as a chemical building block. Since the characteristics of DME are similar to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), it is speculated that DME can be used in large scale power production or be used in LPG automobiles and equipment. If these markets are recognized and developed, DME will see a substantial increase.

Alternative Fuel Technologies, Inc. is a research & development organization engaged in the design, development and prototype manufacturing of advanced fuel systems for use with the alternative fuel DME.

Other active stocks are Green Plains Renewable Energy (NASDAQ: GPRE) New Generation Biofuels Holding (NASDAQ: NGBF) and KAT Exploration (PINKSHEETS: KATX)
