Ontario's FIT Program: Domestic Content and Other Conundrums

TORONTO--(Marketwire - April 21, 2010) -  On Thursday evening, April 29, Ontario Solar Network will host its inaugural monthly networking event in which leaders within the province's solar energy industry will discuss Opportunities & Challenges in Ontario's FIT Program.

Originally organized exclusively for current members of the Network -- the business association of Ontario Solar Academy's alumni community -- the event was opened up to the public once organizers received a flood of requests from those eager to discuss this topic.

Solar Pioneer and Industry Expert: Ron Mantay
The kick-off event will feature Ron Mantay, a board member of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) -- dedicated to promoting solar energy in Canada. Mantay's attendance represents a rare opportunity for solar stakeholders to discuss some of the province's key obstacles and most promising prospects with a true industry insider.

Mantay has worked at SunEdison Canada, Carmanah Technologies, and Schuco Solar - Canada where he currently serves as General Manager. According to Jacob Travis, Director of Ontario Solar Academy and founder of Ontario Solar Network, "[Mantay] understands the landscape, both from the business side and policy side. Given his work in engineering, electronics, and solar, he appreciates how even the slightest changes can ripple throughout the solar energy value chain."
