Opawica Announces Matachewan, Dingman & Atikwa Lake, Ontario, Results

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 6, 2007) -

Opawica Explorations Inc. ("Opawica" / the "Company")(TSX:OPW) announces the following results and update reports from the Matachewan, Dingman Group and Atikwa Lake properties.

Assay results have been received from a further three holes at the Matachewan property located about 60km from Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

Drill hole OPW-19 on the northwest portion of the property intersected the down plunge western extension of the Camking Gold Zone at a vertical depth of 420m below surface. The zone extends over a core length of 29.6m from 435 to 464.6 m with strongly disseminated pyrite and strong hematite and quartz alteration in Temiskaming sediments. A composite assay from 440 to 449m assayed 0.87 g/t Au over a core length of 9m which includes 2.21 g/t Au over 1m, 1.24 g/t Au over 1m, 1.41 g/t Au over 1m and 1.11 g/t Au over 1m.

Drill hole OPW -22 was drilled on a Titan survey target that was situated on the common boundary of Opawica and Northgate Minerals Corp ("Northgate"). Hole #22 intersected a strong alteration zone from 512m to 618.1m. This hole contained no significant gold values. Hole #22 correlates with similar strong alteration zones in holes OPW-2, 7 and 20 over a strike length of 800m to the east. Previously announced holes #2 and #7 carried no significant gold values, hole OPW-20 carried anomalous gold values consisting of 0.45 g/t Au and 10 samples of 0.10 g/t Au. Samples are taken at 1m intervals.

Trench results have also been received from 16 samples from trench #5. Fourteen samples contained anomalous or no significant gold. Two grab samples taken 4m apart assayed 5.28 and 3.15 g/t Au. Trench #5 is located on the south western portion of Opawica's Matachewan property and situated about 300m north of Northgate's Young Davidson property. Trench #5 is coincident with an IP target and follow up drilling has been recommended on this target consisting of two 150m holes.

A total of 8139m of drilling and 46 trenches totalling 3450m of trenching has been completed on the Matachewan property. Assays are pending on four trench locations. This property is subject to an option and joint venture with Northgate whereby Northgate may earn a 55% interest in the mineral rights and 100% interest in certain surface lease rights by incurring $2,900,000 in equity, cash and exploration expenditures over a three year period as specifically outlined in the Company's May 28, 2007 press release.

The Company has received the results from a 52m section from hole #36 at the Company's Atikwa Lake copper-gold property near Kenora, Ontario. Hole #36 was drilled about 100m south west of the Open Pit Zone to a depth of approximately 100m.

This hole contained anomalous copper and gold values throughout the 52m section.

Further drilling is planned at Atikwa Lake immediately following the current deep penetrating geophysical survey which is expected to be finished by the end of November 2007.

The Company has completed six holes at the Veley gold property located about 75 km northeast of Belleville, Ontario.

Each hole intersected between 1m to 2m wide vein zone consisting of carbonate and quartz veining. The holes were drilled on three separate collar locations 75m apart on strike and drilled to depths of 50m and up to 100m.

No significant gold mineralization was encountered in the six holes. The Company has now abandoned its option on the Veley property.

In addition, the Company has abandoned its option on the Mono Gold Property and the Addington gold property located in Madoc and Kaladar Townships of south eastern Ontario.

Opawica is currently drilling the Dingman Gold property in south eastern Ontario. The location is along the boundary between Marmora and Madoc Townships between the towns of Bancroft and Madoc. The property is host to the Dingman granite which is strongly altered with sericite-quartz-pyrite zones over a strike length of 800 m and 100 m wide. The main Dingman gold zone is 300 metres long and up to 100m wide according to historic drilling in the 1980's (Noranda) and 1990's (Deloro Minerals Ltd.). The current drill program is outlined to confirm the findings of previous operators of the property. In addition, the current program will test the main Dingman gold zone at 50m drill hole spacings and will test the main Dingman gold zone to a depth of approximately 160m. The current drilling will enable Opawica to carry out a 43-101 compliant resource study at Dingman.

The Company has now drilled eight holes on the Dingman gold property and has received assays on the first two holes. Significant assays are as follows:

The total phase I drill program will consist of 12 holes and is presently ongoing at Dingman.

The Qualified Person for all of the above properties is Mr. Fred Sharpley, P.Geo., of Kirkland Lake, Ontario and he has reviewed the contents of this release.

All of the above drill hole results are not true widths and further drilling is required to determine same.

Fire assays from the Matachewan, Veley and Dingman properties, Ontario, were carried out by Swastika Laboratories of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Fire assays from the Atikwa Lake property were carried out by Accurassay Laboratories of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
