OpenLogic Announces Support and Governance Trends Driving Success in 2009

-- Strong customer growth: OpenLogic's new customer growth was strong as bookings increased 86% over 2008. Renewal bookings grew by 40% over 2008 and OpenLogic now has more than 130 enterprise customers.

-- Strength in Global 2000: OpenLogic's sales remain strong with large, Global 2000 companies representing 60% of OpenLogic's customer base. OpenLogic's customers include the #1 company in 8 different industry segments.

-- Increased industry penetration: OpenLogic saw adoption of its support services and governance platform by enterprises that use open source as well as enterprises that distribute products containing open source. While financial services and technology/telecommunications remain OpenLogic's top industries, government was the fastest growing sector. OpenLogic also saw strong growth in healthcare, manufacturing and media sectors.

-- Customers shop for open source support options: Companies continue to proactively look for low-cost open source support options and to compare vendors. OpenLogic saw more than 75% of new customer bookings come from inbound leads, up from 50% in 2008.

-- The top 5 projects: OpenLogic offers support on more than 500 open source packages. Of those, OpenLogic sold the most support on:

- JBoss

- Tomcat

- Apache HTTP

- Hibernate

- MySQL Server

-- OpenLogic continued to evolve its open source support and governance offerings in 2009 based on customer needs. Several of the key milestones of 2009 included:

- CentOS support: OpenLogic announced support for the CentOS Linux distribution. CentOS is a stable operating system which is created from freely available source code of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). OpenLogic also announced intent to expand support to other community Linux distributions in 2010.

- OSS Deep Discovery for scanning source code: OpenLogic launched OSS Deep Discovery to extend the capabilities of OpenLogic's OSS Discovery scanning tool, which has been available under an open source license since 2007. OSS Deep Discovery uses multiple new techniques to find open source components or even snippets of code that might be copied from open source projects.

- Open Source Fulfillment Center: OpenLogic releases its Fulfillment Center, a service designed to help customers that distribute products containing open source code to comply with GNU GPL and other open source licenses.

- Proactive support: OpenLogic launched 3 new tiers of open source support, including proactive support. Proactive support combines remote monitoring of critical server infrastructure with proactive response by OpenLogic's support organization to alerts and issues that arise.

- New governance offerings: OpenLogic continued to expand its governance platform -- including offering a comparison tool that compares the cost of open source software to comparable proprietary software.
