Opengear Demonstrates First Advanced Device Server Supporting High-Speed Cellular Wireless Networks for Out-of-Band Access

SANDY, UT--(Marketwire - April 19, 2010) - Opengear (www.opengear.com), a leading provider of next-generation console server and KVM over IP solutions, today announced it will be demonstrating the ACM product line at the Global Connect 2010 Conference.

What: The Art of Evolution/Global Connect 2010 Conference

Where: Booth 108 at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, Colo.

When: April 18 - 22, 2010

Opengear will have on display the ACM5000, one of Opengear's fastest growing product lines. The ACM5000 is used by any organization that requires secure remote access and control of network devices such as VoIP systems, routers, switches, servers, firewalls, uninterruptible power supplies, power distribution units and environmental monitoring devices. Organizations can centrally manage and monitor network devices and power status at all the remote branch outlets and centralize alarms to set up automatic shut-downs to be triggered in the event of battery back-up outages. ISPs and carriers are using the ACM5004-G for monitoring and out-of-band management of their remote POPs over the cellular network. Companies can also run software applications on the virtual servers at the head office that communicates securely to serial devices at the remote sites.

In March, 2010, Opengear launched the ACM5004-G, the world's first advanced device server supporting EDGE, GPRS, GSM, HSDA and HSUPA high speed cellular access.

"Opengear has been well known and trusted in datacenters for years. We are now bringing our commitment to providing full featured, secure, next generation open source products to the telecom device server marketplace," said Todd Rychecky, VP Sales & Marketing North AmericaOpengear. "We are excited to be showing the ACM5000 line at GlobalConnect."
