Operator in Oklahoma Selects Ericsson to Deploy 3G CDMA Wireless Network

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN--(Marketwire - April 29, 2010) -

-- Cross Wireless (doing business as Sprocket Wireless) of Oklahoma will
convert its current GSM network in 2010

-- Ericsson will be sole provider of all 3G CDMA equipment

-- Highlights Ericsson's commitment to CDMA following Nortel acquisition

Cross Wireless (doing business as Sprocket Wireless) has selected Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) as the sole supplier for the deployment of its 3G CDMA network. Ericsson will plan, design and deploy the radio access network and a converged packet backbone network for the new 3G CDMA service being launched by Cross Wireless. The converged packet backbone is utilizing the 10G Ericsson SmartEdge 600 for the IP wireless backhaul, multi-cast IPTV traffic and internet service aggregation.

"Our partnership with Ericsson will allow us to expand our network and offer products and services to our customers that we otherwise would not have been able to provide," said V. David Miller II, President of Cross Telephone. "This is the first step toward providing our customers the benefits of a high-speed 4G network in the future."

Cross Telephone currently offers wireline, voice, internet, IPTV and wireless services to customers in parts of eastern Oklahoma. The company is based in Warner, Oklahoma and is scheduled to launch its 3G CDMA voice and data network in the second half of 2010.

"We are pleased to be selected by Cross Wireless for the build and deployment of its CDMA network and converged packet backbone for customers in Oklahoma," said Craig Stein, Ericsson vice president for US Regions, Broadband and Media Accounts. "Ericsson is committed to continue rapidly expanding our CDMA business in the United States with regional operators."

Following the acquisition of the former Nortel wireless assets for North America in 2009, Ericsson is a leading supplier of CDMA solutions for network operators, including the largest operators in the U.S. and Canada as well as many tier II and tier III operators.
