Seasoned Industry Investors Bring Proven Success in Supply Chain Businesses

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - November 13, 2007) - Optiant, the premier provider of supply chain network design and inventory optimization technology, announces the addition of Padman Ramankutty and Dr. David Anderson to Optiant's board of directors.

Dr. David L. Anderson, Managing Director of Supply Chain Ventures LLC, an investment company specializing in innovative supply chain technology, has made an investment within Optiant. Dr. Anderson was formerly a global managing partner for the $1.5 billion Supply Chain Consulting Practice at Accenture Consulting, retiring in 2002. Since retiring from Accenture, Dave has focused on angel and early-stage investing in innovative marketing and supply chain businesses, including Lean Logistics, New Vine Logistics, TrueDemand, Kiva and Tumri. In the late 1980s, he was a founder of Operations Technology, Inc., a web-based, intelligent messaging software company.

"Effectively controlling channel inventories has long been a major challenge for corporations," indicates Dr. Anderson. "Globalization has made the problem more complex by extending supply lines into countries with less-than-optimal logistics infrastructure. Optiant has a solid track record of delivering significant cost savings and service improvements to its customers. Our investment will help Optiant showcase their innovative solutions to a broader range of companies and explain to them how they can become better supply chain managers using world-class optimization technologies."

Dr. Anderson is on the Board of Directors of New Vine Logistics of Napa California, LeanLogistics of Holland, Michigan and Control Group of New York. He is also on the advisory boards of Logispring, a European venture firm specializing in supply chain investments, and TrueDemand of Los Gatos, California.

In his role, he oversaw the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for Bristlecone's competencies in supply chain management, ERP, and applications management services. Achievements at Bristlecone included securing partnerships with SAP AG and SAP Labs India and merging with Mahindra Consulting.

Prior to founding Bristlecone in 1998, Mr. Ramankutty headed SAP's High Tech Global Industry Business Unit where he successfully positioned SAP R/3 as the premier enterprise solution for the semiconductor industry. Padman has also played a key role in the development, strategic assessment and marketing of SAP's Supply Chain Optimization and MES programs.
