Or Hadash Synagogue: Newmarket Synagogue to Dedicate New Location

NEWMARKET, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 17, 2010) - Or Hadash Synagogue will mark the opening of its new location at 451 Botsford Street, in downtown historic Newmarket with a dedication service on Sunday, September 5th at 2:00 p.m.

Leading the dedication service will be Rabbi Dow Marmur, Rabbi Emeritus and Cantor Benjamin Maissner of Holy Blossom Temple. Rabbi Jonathan Crane and Ryan Leszner, leaders of Or Hadash's High Holy Days services, will lead a mincha service.

Newmarket mayor Tony Van Bynen, Aurora mayor Phyllis Morris and Canadian Council for Reform Judaism President Carole Sterling will bring greetings.

Friends and members of the community are invited to join this joyous celebration which will commence with the marching of the Torah into Or Hadash's new home. 

"This is quite an exciting time for our congregation. Having larger premises means that we can continue to serve the growing Jewish population in our area," says Larry Raifman, President.

Or Hadash Synagogue, a member of the Union for Reform Judaism, has been serving the Jewish community of northern York Region since 1993. Or Hadash offers warm, friendly and family oriented egalitarian Shabbat and High Holy Days services. The synagogue offers religious school, holiday celebrations, and a variety of adult and youth programs.
