Orange County Irrigation Products Manufacturer Jardinier Leads the Way With Eco-Friendly In-House Printing

Jardinier Wins Sustainable Reprographic Award From Professional Reprographics

TUSTIN, CA--(Marketwire - December 12, 2007) - Fountain Valley company Jardinier won ProRepro's silver Sustainable Reprographics Solutions (SRS) certification program award for fulfilling a program that earned it distinction as a "green" company with sound in-house printing practices.

In the third quarter, Jardinier's 13 employees generated 1,145 lbs. of waste paper, which ProRepro's reps took to a recycling center. ProRepro partners Keath Lauderdale and Tom Kennedy matched the amount of money collected from turning in the paper, and presented a check to Jardinier along with a custom-made wave-shaped award. The check will be donated by Jardinier to Orange County Coastkeeper, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of local marine habitats and watersheds through programs of education, restoration, enforcement and advocacy. Andrew Bowden, president of the Orange County chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) was on hand to present the award.

"ProRepro's program positions us to be a leader in environmental sustainability -- our company's niche -- not only on client projects, but also within our own offices," noted Jardinier CEO Gene Nalbandian.

ProRepro's Lauderdale said, "Because their company is based on creating new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle water, it was a natural for Jardinier's engineers to embrace an in-house paper recycling and waste reduction program. They're now using recycled papers. And they were enthusiastic about the 36-inch plotter we furnished them that tracks every print to a specific job, which helps reduce waste. A less-obvious benefit of the program is the fact that in-house printing saves money and fuel. A traditional reprographics shop charges between $20 and $35 to deliver a job, and it puts another car on our congested roadways."

ProRepro also collects Jardinier's used ink cartridges and donates them to a local church that uses the rebate money for scholarships to its preschool program.
