"Oscars for Business" Announces Call for Entries in Sixth Annual American Business Awards

Business Awards Seeking Best U.S. Companies, Executives; Adds Best Environmental Responsibility Program Category

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 8, 2008) - Just in time for "Oscar season," the Sixth Annual American Business Awards issued a call for entries today for its own version of the "Oscars," seeking to honor the great performances in business, from top executives and organizations to sales teams and support staffers.

Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" (New York Post, April 27, 2005), The American Business Awards is the only national, independent business awards program honoring organizations of all types -- public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

In a nod to corporate America's focus on "green," the 2008 awards will present an award in the new Best Environmental Responsibility Program category to honor companies making changes internally or in their communities to improve the environment.

Entries may be submitted in dozens of categories ranging from Best Executive to Most Innovative Company. Additional new categories in 2008 include Best Management Team, Best PR or Communications Campaign, and Best PR Agency. Nicknamed the Stevie® for the Greek word "crowned," the awards will be presented at a gala and nationally broadcast ceremony in New York City on June 12, 2008.

The 5th Annual American Business Awards were presented last June to a diverse group of American organizations, including American Express Business Travel, AT&T, CareerBuilder.com, Dow Jones, Marriott Vacation Club International, McAfee Inc., Network Solutions, Salesforce.com, and Sharp Electronics Corporation.
