Pacific Coast Nickel Corp. Completes First Season of Drilling at Big Nic -- Awaits Results

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - October 19, 2007) - Pacific Coast Nickel Corp. (TSX-V: NKL) is pleased to announce that it has completed its first season of drilling on the Big Nic nickel-copper property. The Big Nic property is adjacent to the former Giant Mascot nickel mine in the Harrison Lake area of British Columbia, Canada. Giant Mascot produced over 58 million lbs of nickel and 29 million lbs of copper between 1936 and 1974, and is BC's sole economic producer of nickel, past or present.

Pacific Coast Nickel's first reconnaissance drilling at Big Nic focused on drilling shallow diamond core holes near targets delineated by strong magnetic anomalies that were coincident with nickel-copper mineralization found in float samples. Five shallow holes averaging 55 metres each were drilled on two target areas, totaling 279 metres. Heavy snowfall forced the company to terminate the 2007 program early. Petrographic analysis and thin section work on select core samples is in progress.

Pacific Coast Nickel controls approximately 11,000 hectares of land adjacent to or near the former Giant Mascot nickel mine. Target deposit types include both massive sulphide, Giant Mascot-style as well as bulk tonnage which is basal and margin style. The basal and margin style has not been extensively explored for previously -- Pacific Coast Nickel has traced mineralized mafic lithologies along a 1.2 kilometre strike length.

"We are relatively pleased with the results from this drilling, even though the program was cut short by an early snowfall. This data will be invaluable to our plans for the 2008 program, which is already fully funded," said Michael Sweatman, President.
