Paltalk Enables Standalone Video Chat With SuperIM Air App

Paltalk Brings Video Chat to Users' Desktop -- Enabling Video Chat With Friends and Family

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 25, 2010) -  Paltalk, the leading real-time, video-based community with more than 4 million active members, today announced the launch of its SuperIM Air App -- an extended version of its URL-based video chat product, SuperIM URL. SuperIM URLs, released in February, are personalized links that allow video chat anywhere on the Web with any friend, regardless of whether they are a Paltalk member. With the SuperIM Air App, users can access their SuperIM URL links and receive chat notifications from friends directly from their desktops, without even opening an Internet browser.

Paltalk's SuperIM enables users to host their own private chat rooms. Similar to an e-mail program, the SuperIM Air App sits on a desktop and notifies the user if someone wants to video chat. If the user is unavailable, friends and family have the ability to leave text and video messages on the user's personal web page.

"One of the biggest barriers to video chat is that the user feels they have to build an elaborate network of contacts before they can actually use video chat as an effective tool for connecting with friends and family," said Jason Katz, CEO of Paltalk. "SuperIM was built expressly as a way for users to quickly set up a video chat account and immediately have a portal to connect with friends and family."

Additional SuperIM Air App features include:

  • Downloads and installs in seconds

  • 10 person video, voice, text chat free

  • Users can video chat with you from any browser or operating system (PC/Mac/Linux)
