Pants Off for Prostate Cancer Toronto’s Newest and Most Innovative Fundraising Event

Tired of Turning the 'Other Cheek'

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 3, 2010) - Tired of turning the "other cheek" on such a serious disease, on March 10, 2010 over 200 guests will take their pants off for Pants Off for Prostate Cancer, a not to be missed night of revelry to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men, affecting 1 in 6 Canadian men in their lifetime. In the coming year alone, over 25,000 Canadian men and their families will have to deal with the reality of a prostate cancer diagnosis. The good news is that prostate cancer can be successfully treated if diagnosed in its earliest stages (generally through regular annual check-ups). Prostate cancer is also thought to be potentially preventable, but more research is needed.

The city's newest and most innovative fundraising event, Pants Off for Prostate Cancer (, will help fund critical research into prostate cancer prevention and treatment, as well as raising awareness for prostate cancer and the importance of annual medical exams to detect and diagnose the disease as early as possible.

Pants Off for Prostate Cancer will be a riotous evening of merriment. Guests will be required to check their pants at the "pant check" and celebrate the night with "pant-less" abandon. Pants Off for Prostate Cancer will feature mouth-watering food provided by Trevor Kitchen & Bar, a grand prize raffle and door draw for unbelievable prizes, and a fantastic silent auction. While guests are encouraged to wear their wackiest and most original boxers to win great prizes for the best and most outrageously "undressed", Pants Off for Prostate Cancer has partnered with JOE BOXER® to make event-themed boxer shorts available for purchase, ensuring that all guests are outfitted in the finest underwear. Prostate Cancer Canada ties, featured in the Prostate Cancer Canada logo, will also be available for purchase.

Pants Off for Prostate Cancer has been generously sponsored by BMO Nesbitt Burns, Bowne & Co., Dundee Capital Markets, Fasken Martineau,, Laurel Hill Advisory Group, Redwood Asset Management, RR Donnelley & Sons, Bay Street Rugby Football Club and DailyXY.

Funds raised from the sale of event tickets, drinks, Prostate Cancer Canada ties and scarves, and boxer shorts, as well all corporate sponsorships, raffle ticket and silent auction proceeds will go directly to Prostate Cancer Canada - for more information on Prostate Cancer Canada, please visit
