ParAccel Takes Aim at U.S. Government Data Analytics Demands, Launches Federal Government Group

ParAccel Analytic Database in Pilot Tests With Several U.S. Agencies

CUPERTINO, CA--(Marketwire - April 13, 2010) -  ParAccel, Inc., provider of the industry record-breaking ParAccel Analytic Database (PADB) for strategic analytic processing, today announced the launch of a U.S. government group to service rising demand among federal agencies for greater data discovery. New ParAccel Regional Vice President Christopher Kane, a veteran executive of the technology industry and federal market, will lead the initiative, which already has several pilot activities under way including within the Department of Defense.

Data-driven intelligence, automation and decision making are fundamental to the operations of the federal government, from the defense, intelligence and scientific communities to civil agencies such as the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Health and Human Services. ParAccel's government-grade, ultra high-performance analytic database provides these organizations with unmatched capacity to radically accelerate and simplify data loads and highly complex queries involving huge volumes of data, while maintaining high levels of security.

"ParAccel's massively parallel, columnar-based technology represents a clear and compelling solution for agencies to address their enormous analytic requirements with new levels of performance that can scale with the simple addition of more COTS hardware," said Kane. "We are already experiencing significant interest in the ParAccel Analytic Database from a variety of federal agencies and the government contractors that serve them and we have a simple path for piloting and deploying our platform that adheres to the security and privacy demands of their organizational mandates."

Prior to joining ParAccel, Kane was the Regional Vice President for the NetIQ business unit of Attachmate. His was the highest revenue-producing NetIQ region worldwide in license, maintenance and services sales. He has also held senior positions with FalconStor, Callidus Software and Exabyte Corporation.

ParAccel has an established customer and several pilot programs within the federal government. PADB is unmatched in its ability to achieve high analytic performance with extremely fast data loads and no tuning required for executing complex queries on large volumes of data. PADB offers government-grade security such as column-level encryption and is currently being qualified for Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) compliant environments.

"U.S. government agencies are accumulating data at rates that far exceed their capacity to analyze the information, as are their corporate cousins, yet these agencies have discrete needs and demands when deploying new technologies," said Richard Winter of WinterCorp, a prominent expert on the scalability and architecture of data management systems. "Creating pilot and deployment models to meet the unique requirements of federal agencies is a timely and forward-thinking move on the part of ParAccel."
