Parker and University of WI Choose Award-Winning Kaviza VDI-in-a-box™

Kaviza Wins 2010 Innovation Award; eWeek Features VDI-in-a-box™

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - April 6, 2010) -  Customers worldwide are reaping immediate Return on Investment (ROI) deploying desktop virtualization using Kaviza's easy-to-use and highly affordable VDI-in-a-box™ -- which enables desktop IT to deploy virtual desktops at a cost of less than $500 each. To learn more and download a free trial, visit Kaviza's redesigned website.

Parker SSD Drives, a division of Parker Hannifin, and The College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are among the latest to invest in Kaviza's award-winning VDI-in-a-box™, the industry's first and only affordable turnkey virtual desktop solution designed specifically for desktop budgets, desktop IT, and desktop user needs.

Parker SSD Drives, a division of Parker Hannifin, deployed Kaviza to maximize production time by reducing unscheduled downtime and meantime for repair work. Besides substantial cost savings over other alternatives, Kaviza was quick and easy to deploy. Steve Armstrong, Senior Support Analyst at Parker SSD Drives, explains, "We're impressed with the functionality, accessibility and speed -- we were up and running within minutes. We have a solution we can easily replicate across our manufacturing sites, as it can be handled by differently trained and skilled IT staff."

"Parker is a great example of what we see overall in the UK -- Kaviza makes VDI viable for many here who are interested in desktop virtualization but have held back due to the high upfront cost of the traditional solutions," adds Andy Larkam, CEO Itopia Consulting, who was Kaviza's partner for Parker SSD Drives.

The College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison deployed Kaviza to provide students remote access to their teaching labs. They adopted Kaviza virtual desktops so that students can get a near exact experience remotely to sitting in their labs -- with access to all the same engineering applications and software.

"We work closely with our customers to understand their needs and deliver product innovations that exceed their requirements while being easy-to-use and affordable. Our goal is to make Kaviza the market leader in high-quality, affordable, easy-to-use desktop virtualization. Our fast-growing customer base and the industry recognition we are receiving further validates our position," explains Kumar K. Goswami, co-founder and CEO of Kaviza.

Kaviza continues to gain industry recognition:
eWeek "Products to Watch" Kaviza was recommended as a new product that IT decision makers should have on their radars.

Network Products Guide named Kaviza VDI-in-a-box™ a winner of its 2010 Product Innovation Awards. "Innovation is not just about new products alone," said Rake Narang, editor-in-chief at Network Products Guide. "To succeed, companies need to see innovation not as a onetime errand but as something that has to be continuously evolved and improved upon over and over again. This requires putting greater focus on customer needs and making innovation the center of companies' way of developing better solutions. Innovative products such as VDI-in-a-box™ are making desktop virtualization affordable and accessible to everyone."
