Patrick Gregoire of Boreal-IS Wins Two Prizes Including the Prestigious Deloitte Award for Corporate Social Responsibility

MAGOG, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 26, 2009) - Patrick Gregoire, co-founder and executive vice-president of Boreal - Information Strategies (Borealis) has been awarded the Deloitte Corporate Social Responsibility Award recognizing the contribution of Borealis for its practices and policies promoting environmental protection, sound human resources management and the well-being of the community. The Deloitte award is given to a Canadian business having won the provincial Young Entrepreneur Award (YEA) from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). Borealis had earlier been awarded the 2009 YEA award for Quebec.

"I am very proud of both of these honours, which I am sharing with my whole team," said Patrick Gregoire, vice president of Borealis, during the BDC ceremony last night in Ottawa. "It is very exciting to be recognized by the BDC for our contribution to the growth of the Canadian economy."

Every year, BDC's Young Entrepreneur Awards honour dynamic entrepreneurs under the age of 35 who head up a business which has an original concept, is successful, has potential for growth and demonstrates social responsibility.

The Deloitte Award recognizes not only the contribution of counsel to corporation management on social and environmental impacts and conforming to international standards, but also Borealis's own commitment to sustainable development. Borealis is dedicating 1% of its annual revenues to support community development and environmental protection.

"More and more, the Canadian business community is recognizing the need for sound corporate social responsibility and environmental action," said Jules Paquette, president of Borealis, during the evening. "And the Deloitte award we have received is proof of that recognition."

Borealis's clientele is made up mostly of corporations in the mining, gas and petroleum sectors. The company is internationally recognized for its expertise in managing and minimizing the social and environmental impact of major infrastructure projects in developing regions. The 39 employees work primarily in Africa and across North and South America.
