Sales pick up for the BCS Championship Bowl as gameday draws near, yet, while the college football event ranks above the pro New York Giants, the Giants are the big movers and newsmakers this week.

New York hosted the New England Patriots Saturday for a much-anticipated game in which the Pats completed a perfect 16 - 0 regular season. For their role in NFL history, the Giants see a sales spike that puts them at number five on the Top Events chart.

The Los Angeles Lakers experience a similar bump, though on a much smaller scale due to hosting the Boston Celtics this weekend. They reach number nine in the rankings.
