Pentadyne Flywheel Energy Storage Fleet Exceeds One Million Operating Hours
CHATSWORTH, CA--(Marketwire - September 25, 2007) - Pentadyne Power Corporation
(www.pentadyne.com), the world's leading commercial manufacturer of clean
energy storage systems using advanced composite flywheel technology,
announced that its fleet of installed products has exceeded a total of one
million hours of reliable operation.
One million hours is equivalent to more than 100 years of non-stop
operation.
"To have achieved more than 100 years of proven reliable operation in less
than 5 years of commercial sales is a testament both to the proven reliable
performance of the Pentadyne flywheel as well as its exceptionally rapid
adoption among customers in our target markets," said Pentadyne President &
CEO Mark McGough. "I'm especially proud that daily operation of Pentadyne
clean energy storage systems at facilities around the world not only cut
energy costs compared to lead-acid batteries, they also mitigate the global
warming gas emissions of batteries."
Pentadyne-made systems are sold by several of the world's leading
uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system manufacturers. The company's
flywheel energy storage systems are used as a supplement to increase the
reliability of conventional UPS lead-acid battery arrays, or to entirely
eliminate them and their associated costs, frequent maintenance issues,
poor reliability and environmental impact.
"This exceptional milestone achievement represents enormous cost savings on
the parts of our customers as well as a dramatic boost in their overall UPS
system reliability," said Johnny Gonzales, Pentadyne's Vice-President of
Sales & Service.
