Pentaho to Showcase Open Source BI Suite at ODTUG Kaleidoscope

Pentaho Partner to Present World's Most Popular Open Source BI Suite on Oracle Technology Stack

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - June 5, 2007) - Pentaho Corp., creator of the world's most popular open source business intelligence (BI) suite, today announced plans to participate in one of the largest Oracle user group conferences of the year, Kaleidoscope 2007. The annual event is hosted by Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG), and will be held in Daytona Beach, Florida, June 18th through 21st. Kaleidoscope 2007 will provide Pentaho with an ideal location to target one of its key audiences, Oracle developers.

Pentaho provides a full spectrum of embeddable, java-based business intelligence functionality, which makes ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2007 an excellent vehicle to showcase the capabilities that have made it the world's most popular open source BI suite. Pentaho offers modular, standards-based embedded reporting, OLAP, dashboard, data mining, data integration, and BI platform capabilities for Oracle developers. Unlike other BI providers who only support the Oracle database with closed-source professional editions, Pentaho supports all of its open source modules on the Oracle database, driving wider adoption, better quality, and reduced risk for Oracle users.

"ODTUG welcomes Pentaho to Kaleidoscope 2007. Their participation demonstrates the range of information available at the conference and complements our efforts to provide extensive technical education for our attendees," said John Jeunnette, ODTUG president.

William Wimsatt from Pentaho Partner Wells Landers Group will lead a session entitled "Developing Oracle-Based Business Intelligence Solutions with Open Source Software." The session abstract highlights how Open Source solutions are gaining momentum and are a great solution for businesses that are looking for something more cost effective than traditional proprietary BI. Mr. Wimsatt's presentation will explore the Pentaho Business Intelligence Platform within Oracle software environments including Database, Application Servers, and a BPEL server. Attendees will see how a full business intelligence solution can be developed and deployed integrated with the Oracle platform.

"Pentaho's professional open source model is great for Oracle users, DBAs, and developers looking to simplify their IT environment while adding valuable BI capabilities," said Nicholas Goodman, Oracle ACE and Director of BI Solutions at Pentaho. "Pentaho eliminates the risk associated with up-front software license fees, and gives developers a straightforward, robust, and modern BI solution."
