PharmaVigilant Sets the Standard for Training in the Clinical Trial Industry

PharmaVigilant University Is the Industry's First Educational Program to Gain IACET Accreditation

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - April 12, 2010) - With the launch of PharmaVigilant University, PharmaVigilant (, a clinical trial technology provider, became the first company in its market to have an International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) accredited training program. By launching this program for clinical research professionals, PharmaVigilant is setting the bar for training in the clinical trial industry. As a testament to the need for industry training, will be collaborating with PharmaVigilant to train 100 of its registered clinical research monitors.

PharmaVigilant University is a unique, accredited training program with a curriculum that not only covers PharmaVigilant's products, but also educates CRCs, CRAs, CPIs and CTIs on good clinical research practices, skills for navigating the changing political, regulatory and financial landscapes and business principles that apply to clinical research. The courses are designed to help both trial sponsors and end-users stay current on the latest processes in clinical trial data management.

"As the industry evolves, so do the products and services designed by technology providers to meet the increasingly sophisticated data management needs of trial sponsors. Until now, there has been a void in training and continuing education programs focused on giving monitors the training necessary to use technology products to their greatest potential as individual tools or as a powerfully integrated toolset," said James DeSanti, the Company's CEO and Founder. "A new generation of technology products gives way to this new level of sophisticated training so that in the end, monitors industry-wide will have quicker ramp up time and a smoother and more efficient clinical trial data collection process."

According to Scott Freedman, President of, "This collaboration with PharmaVigilant University will enhance the valuable tools offered to independent trial monitors. We want monitors to be prepared as they work with different sponsors. Thanks to PharmaVigilant University, I am pleased that there is now a program available that trains monitors on data management. Clearly, remote monitoring is gaining industry-wide adoption, and through this program more monitors will now have the training necessary to meet these changing needs."

PharmaVigilant offers a full suite of clinical trial technology offerings including Electronic Data Capture (EDC), data warehousing, study building (I-Builder), Electronic Trial Master File system (eTMF), Remote Source Document Verification (rSDV), study administration and an automated site payment system. PharmaVigilant focuses on Phase I-IV clinical trials, registries and other post-marketing studies. The technology has supported more than 200,000 patients in 14 countries across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia and continues to expand rapidly.
