Phase Two of RONA's "Doing it Right" Campaign Focuses on Customers

BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 4, 2010) - RONA inc. (TSX:RON), the largest Canadian distributor and retailer of hardware, renovation and gardening products, is launching the second phase of its "Doing it right" advertising campaign today. The new messages put consumers front and centre, paying tribute to people tackling construction, renovation and interior decoration projects using sound advice and a great selection of products, especially RONA's eco-responsible products.

"The spots highlight RONA's commitment to meeting customers' expectations and helping them successfully get their projects off the ground in a personalized yet professional way," explained Pierre L'Heureux, vice president of marketing, image and sponsorships at RONA. "The messages feature our offer of affordable and innovative solutions for renovating, decorating and improving their homes, as well as our eco-responsible products. We know that our customers share our respect for the environment and our determination to do things right by making the right choices."

The new commercials showcase the achievements of RONA customers and praise their efforts to reduce their environmental footprint by, for example, choosing products that save water and electricity, using wood from certified forests, and buying composting equipment. The spots also introduce projects inspired by the RONA by Design series which are affordable trendsetting project recipes.

These messages add renewed momentum to the nationwide "Doing it right" campaign launched in spring 2009. Playing on the company's new signature, the campaign states RONA's position as the country's hardware-renovation leader and emphasizes its commitment to sustainable development under the theme "Here's to smart choices and a job well done."

The new campaign includes three televised spots, two of which will begin to hit the airwaves across Canada as of today. The third will be broadcast starting May 10. All three spots are available for viewing as of today on RONA's website at
