Philadelphia Area Security Officers From AlliedBarton Security Services Receive 15 Awards From ASIS International's Philadelphia Chapter


PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - November 19, 2010) - Security officers from AlliedBarton Security Services, www.alliedbarton.com, received 15 awards, including nine honored for acts of valor, at the ASIS International Greater Philadelphia Chapter's 2010 Private Security Appreciation Night on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at the ACE Conference Center in Lafayette Hill.

Overall, 15 of the 20 security officers honored at the dinner and awards ceremony were from AlliedBarton and assigned to locations in Philadelphia and its suburbs.

AlliedBarton security officers receiving Awards for Valor were: Luis Fernandez, who disarmed an attacker in the Emergency Department at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia; Michael Fitzsimmons, who, while on volunteer duty with the Media Fire Company, rescued a woman whose car was stalled in swift water; Annette Jackson, who revived and saved a woman who was overcome by fumes at a bank in the Eastwick section of Philadelphia; and Sidney Barrett and Gregory Houston, who saved the life of a colleague who had gone into diabetic shock. Wade Whitner and Marquis Wallace, who, while assigned to patrol at the University of Pennsylvania, risked their lives by entering a burning West Philadelphia residence to save the lives of several residents; Dan Brady, who evacuated residents from a smoke-filled fraternity house on the University of Pennsylvania campus; and Daniel Martin, who assisted in the apprehension of a sex offender after an altercation at the Granite Run Mall in Springfield.

AlliedBarton security officers receiving Outstanding Performance Awards were: Donald Stevenson, Jr., who initiated the apprehension of a thief at 1234 Market St. in center city Philadelphia, and Steve Walsh, Louis Petrecco and Eric Powell, all of whom assisted in comforting a deranged man on the University of Pennsylvania campus.

AlliedBarton security officers receiving Sustained Superior Performance Awards were: Erelene Veal, assigned to Drexel University, and Daniel Rosiello, a Shift Supervisor assigned to the Comcast Center in Center City Philadelphia.
