WHAT: The Philly Sports Pep Rally celebrating the official opening of

the pomp and circumstance of a Marching Band, delivered by the
Philadelphia Soul Band and Drumline welcoming everyone to another
season. A giant Phillies Jersey, courtesy of Modell's, will be on
display next to the rink, as team mascots cut the ribbon and
invite all in attendance join them on ice for the first official
public skating session of the season.

Guests who wear their favorite Team Hat or Jersey will get $1 off
admission during the Opening Day Celebration (12 noon-5:00 p.m.)

Participants in this Sports Pep Rally include the Philadelphia
Phantoms with an appearance from their mascot Phlex, the
Philadelphia Soul with their mascot the Soulman, the Philadelphia
Seventy-Sixers with giveaways, the Philadelphia Kixx with an
appearance from their mascot Socceroo, and the a visit from
Phanatic and Ball girls from the Philadelphia Phillies.

Professional football player, Quintin Mikell will make a personal
appearance from 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. A young, athletic safety with
a knack for making plays, Mikell (pronounced MICHAEL) proved he
was a force to be reckoned with last season and was voted the
Eagles special teams MVP in 2005 and 2006. Mikell earned a
four-year contract in 2007, which will keep him in Philadelphia
          through 2010.

There will be a special screening of the film, "The Curse of
William Penn" at 2:30 p.m. from Phrustrated Phan Philms. Prior to
Philadelphia's World Series run last month, the Phillies, Eagles,
Flyers & Sixers were in the midst of an unprecedented
quarter-century championship drought, the longest any city with
four professional sports teams has had to endure. Phrustrated
Phan Philms presents their feature-length documentary "The Curse
of William Penn," a fun and informative portrayal of 25 years of
frustration and futility in the City of Brotherly Love and
tribute to the undying dedication of America's most passionate,
          yet misunderstood fan bases.
