Pinup Saints & Nico Archambault Close Landmark Year With New Year's Eve Show at Brampton

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 22, 2009) - The infamous electro pop group Pinup Saints will close 2009 in style with a spectacular New Year's Eve concert in downtown Brampton (Ontario), in front of the Rose Theatre. Tens of thousands of music fans and revelers are expected to participate in the celebrations, as Pinup Saints joins 54*40 to rock one of the largest events of its kind in Canada. The group will be joined on stage by star dancer Nico Archambault, fresh off his European tour with Janet Jackson, to perform a one-hour concert, featuring their first single MISTER, new songs and a few surprises.

In 2009, Pinup Saints established itself as one of the music acts to watch in the coming year. The unorthodox group released its debut album GOLDEN, toured Canada, produced its first music video, MISTER, played in New York and was the only indie act invited to perform at the 2009 Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill, along with superstars Sarah McLachlan and K'Naan. Fronted by lead singers Raul Campued and Wynn Holmes and backed by drum virtuoso Marc-Andre Gilbert and guitar stylist Pierre-Luc Rioux, Pinup Saints earned rave reviews for its unusual thumping tracks, raunchy attitude and stimulating live shows, often joined on stage by some of Canada's best and hottest dancers, including Nico Archambault. Nico, a founding member of the group, was involved in the stage direction and risque dance choreographies of its most elaborate shows, as part of a creative collective, which includes producer Mabel Palomino and film director Fede Sanchez. The group's live version of their provocative track SHOW ME, which culminates with a performer covered in honey, spilled copious amounts of ink from media and fans across the land. "We don't really sound like anyone else. It's something that we've invented," says Raul, who is also the group's music producer. "We want to create the ultimate electro rock show. Rock and lasting pop come from a kind of sexy and uninhibited energy, and I think that's what you get when you come see us live," says Wynn.

Pinup Saints will continue making loud noise and touring in 2010, while writing new tracks with some notorious collaborators for their as-of-yet untitled second album. The group is currently represented by Feldman & Associates for live bookings and is expected to announce shortly a distribution deal, which will bring its music from the digital domain into selected retail stores across the US and Canada. Their album GOLDEN is currently available on iTunes.
