Playing the Field -- IMG Media Take Football Magazine Show to the Middle East

LONDON--(Marketwire - October 10, 2007) - TWI, IMG Media's production and distribution arm, has announced today that it has been commissioned to produce a weekly football magazine show titled "Arab Playing Fields" (Al Malaub Al Arabiya) for ART (The Arab Radio and Television Network) in the Middle East.

The multi-million dollar project will be the first comprehensive football show covering the main Arabic leagues and will include highlights from Arab footballing events, regular league roundups, as well as weekly features such as My Home Town, Player's Quiz, Question and Answer Session and Stadium Guides. The hour-long weekly show is scheduled to air on October 18 for the first time and will be TWI's largest commission to date in the Arab world.

Graham Fry, Managing Director, Production, IMG Media, said, "We are delighted to be producing 'Arab Playing Fields' (Al Malaub Al Arabiya). Football has never been more popular in the Arab World than it is right now and this show is the first quality production dedicated to summarising local leagues and events in this area. We hope to not only raise the profile of the sport across the region but also hope to enhance the already attractive programming offering on ART."

Mohyuldeen Kamel, CEO, International Sports Events, is equally pleased with the deal.

"This development represents an opportunity for us to enrich our offering to football lovers all over the Arab World. We are the bastion of football in Arab TV and the sport entertainment leader in the region -- we strive to live up to our subscribers' expectations in bringing the best the football world has to offer to their homes," said Mr. Kamel, adding, "This is how 'Arab Playing Fields' fits in our strategy; it complements our flagship sporting events such as the World Cup & UEFA Champions League, helps fulfil our commitment to providing total sport entertainment, and enhances the experience available to Arabic-speaking football fans, on a par with world markets, exclusively on ART Sport."

IMG Media will also be responsible for the distribution of the show across the Middle East and Northern Africa.

"Up until now there has never been a comprehensive, high-end football review of the main Arabic leagues -- making 'Arab Playing Fields' the only one of its kind. We are very excited at the prospect of not only producing but also marketing this extremely attractive show. I am confident that the show will be a huge success and a popular choice for broadcasters across these territories. We will be speaking to all Arabic channels with the view of maximising exposure and revenues for this series," said Gabrielle Guedj, Senior Vice President, IMG Sales.

TWI is the world's largest independent producer and distributor of sports programming. This year IMG Media was re-appointed by the Premier League to be its production partner -- producing and distributing over 900 hours of programming per season to the overseas TV market. In December 2006, IMG Media acted as host broadcaster for The 15th Asian Games in Doha.
