LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 26, 2010) -   Celebrity poker icons Annie Duke, Andy Bloch, Chris Ferguson, Rafe Furst, Phil Gordon and Lawrence Bender have joined with the X PRIZE Foundation to host an elite 'casino night' fundraiser at a private mansion in Pacific Palisades on April 24 at 6:30 p.m. This exclusive evening invites guests to go 'all in' with a veritable who's who of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, celebrities and poker champions, all while donating to the Foundation; the globally recognized leader in fostering radical innovation through multi-million dollar incentive competitions.

Founded in 1996, the X PRIZE Foundation tackles the world's greatest challenges in the areas of Life Sciences, Energy & Environment, Education & Global Development, and Exploration (Space & Oceans). Through the development of ground-breaking competitions, X PRIZE incites collaboration among the world's most brilliant minds to address these issues.

Winners of the top prize of the evening can choose from:

  • An out-of-this-world suborbital flight with Virgin Galactic ($200,000 value). The winner of this prize will have the chance to experience complete weightlessness onboard SpaceShipTwo, set to launch later this year.

  • The new 2010 Tesla Roadster ($109,000 value). This head-turning electric sports car goes from 0-60 in under four seconds.

  • The opportunity to be among the first one hundred people to have their genome fully sequenced and analyzed.

Additional lavish prizes range from a Harry Winston Premier Excenter Perpetual Calendar Watch ($56,000 value) to VIP luxury vacations, spa treatments and more. With only 80 seats available, guests will have great odds of winning a prize valued more than their donation for the evening.

"Competition stokes the creative fire and the drive to win leads to heroic acts. The X PRIZE Foundation looks to catalyze breakthrough innovations that benefit humanity through well designed incentivized competitions. X PRIZE is proud to host the first annual fundraiser of this kind in collaboration with our great sponsors and supporters," said Robert K. Weiss, Vice Chair and President of the X PRIZE Foundation. "The attendees will be competing with each other and to play a significant part in creating a better future."

Guests will have a 'high roller' experience as they dine on Savore Cuisine, sip spirits and wine from Sterling Vineyards and Johnnie Walker, and rub elbows with the biggest names in the gaming and entertainment industries. Activities of the evening will range from blackjack and baccarat to a celebrity poker tournament during which guests can hold 'em, fold 'em, and call a bluff on some of the best players in the business.

Attendees can purchase a single ticket for $8,500, with a companion pass for $1,500.* The
X PRIZE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible (less any value of prize won). Patrons who purchase their tickets before April 9 will have the unique opportunity to join poker icons for a private lesson the night of the tournament.
