Powerbase Energy Systems Receives "Entrepreneur of the Year Award"

CARLETON PLACE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 21, 2010) - Powerbase Energy Systems Inc. is pleased to announce that it recently received "The Entrepreneur of the Year Award" from the Ontario Association of Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDC). Powerbase, along with its sister company Sequence Controls Inc., were recognized for achieving innovation in business practices, responding to changes, challenges and opportunities, and for demonstrating positive employment and economic outcomes in the community. The presentation of the award took place on June 12, 2010 during the CFDC annual conference in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Powerbase and Sequence were selected for this award from all of the companies served by CFDC throughout Ontario.

In accepting the award on behalf of Powerbase, president and CEO Rob Morley stated:

"I am extremely proud to accept this award on behalf of our forty employees. Valley Heartland, our local CFDC, has been instrumental in our success over the past eight years. They have supported us by providing timely loans to facilitate our expansion. They have also provided employee training incentives to enhance the skill sets required to meet the growing sophistication of our products. Their involvement has helped us get to where we are today, with world-class products in three markets.

These are exciting times for Powerbase, as we leverage our existing engineering and technical expertise towards our rapidly growing agricultural biogas and power generation business.

The support we have received from Valley Heartland is a local endorsement that our business is a valued piece of the community fabric, and that is important to me. It's good to have local people making decisions that affect local businesses."
