Powertech Acquires More Property at Aladdin

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 10, 2007) - POWERTECH URANIUM CORP. ("Powertech" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:PWE)(FWB:P8A) is pleased to announce that, through its wholly owned subsidiary Powertech (USA) Inc., it has acquired a further 3,000 acres of privately-owned mining leases for a total land position of 13,590 acres in Crook County, Wyoming. The Company has designated this area, located on the northwest flank of the Black Hills Uplift, as the Aladdin exploration project. The Company continues to pursue additional acreage in the area.

In the Aladdin area, a number of uranium occurrences were mined from surface exposures during the 1950's indicating that the area was prospective for further development. During the 1970's and 1980's Teton and Kerr McGee conducted extensive drilling down dip from the surface anomalies. It has been reported that both companies encountered significant uranium mineralization in the area where Powertech has acquired leases. It has been reported that Teton encountered ore grade mineralization and conducted extensive drilling in the areas of discovery. The Company has recently acquired the Teton data base consisting of 220,000 feet of drill hole logs in Aladdin.

Powertech received an exploration permit from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality in October 2006 for the Aladdin Project. The Company made the decision to delay this program due to the pending acquisition of the Teton data base. The Company is currently evaluating this data base so that it may focus its exploration efforts on a go forward basis.

Richard Clement, President of Powertech, says, "The acquisition of additional lands that we believe have excellent potential was based on encouraging information from the historical data base that the Company recently acquired. The Company anticipates that with further detailed interpretation of the drill hole logs Powertech will able to focus its exploration in areas that have the greatest opportunity for discovery of additional uranium deposits."

Powertech Uranium Corp. is a mineral exploration and development company that holds the Dewey Burdock Uranium Deposit in South Dakota, the Centennial Project in Colorado, and the Dewey Terrace and Aladdin Projects in Wyoming, USA.
