Prince Poppycock's Film Debut Now on Amazon

America's Got Talent Contestant's Appearance in Rise Up And Shout!

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - August 24, 2010) -  Rise Up and Shout!, the 2007 documentary on multi-generational creativity in the Los Angeles gay community, has been released on DVD and becomes available exclusively on Amazon.com beginning this week, it was announced by Forward Entertainment.

The documentary highlights the struggles and rewards of gay Angelenos -- including a priest and a former prostitute -- brought together by the creative process and includes interview footage and performances by artist Prince Poppycock.

Prince Poppycock (John Andrew Quale) is recognized by millions for his appearance earlier this year on America's Got Talent. (Poppycock sang an aria from Figaro dressed in his signature Marie Antoinette-style attire.)

Rise Up and Shout! was a 2007 official selection of the Outfest Film Festival, the oldest continuous film festival held annually in Los Angeles, and has been featured on the Sundance Channel. In an article on the film's release, Wehoews.com wrote: "These kids have ceaseless talent, ambition and drive, often fueled by their sexual identity, and with an unequalled rebellious verve. Absolute standouts include... Prince Poppycock."

The DVD available on Amazon.com will retail for $14.95.
