Private Grant Helps AIDS Foundation of Chicago Enhance ClientTrack Implementation

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - January 25, 2010) - Data Systems International (DSI) is pleased to announce that the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) recently received a substantial grant from a private foundation to optimize and provide enhancements to AFC's client data systems, including ClientTrack, DSI's social service software solution.

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago is a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS. In addition to providing funds for many organizations and advocating effective, compassionate HIV/AIDS policies, AFC oversees the coordination of services provided by more than 60 HIV/AIDS organizations and housing providers in the Chicago area. AFC has been identified as one of the key organizations nationwide in HIV/AIDS, and has been recognized for its innovative "lead agency" model in providing effective case management and housing assistance for people affected by HIV/AIDS.

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago was recently awarded a grant from a private foundation dedicated to improving healthcare for vulnerable or underserved populations. The grants are awarded to community-focused, local organizations committed to strengthening program quality and organizational capacity through creative, collaborative solutions. AFC received one of the grants, in part, by showing how ClientTrack could be further developed to track client-level data across their 60+ organizations, assure data quality, provide proof of impact of services, and ultimately improve the quality of services provided through their collaborative efforts.

In a time when many non-profits are seeking new funding sources, private grants for nonprofit technology solutions are one avenue to consider. Roman Buenrostro, Director of Program Data and Special Projects at AFC, expressed his enthusiasm about this grant, and emphasized the unique use of private moneys to support non-profit technology improvements: "We are very excited about this...it is a great way to use public money to pay for buildout and customization [of our data systems] and leverage private money to critically analyze the data we have collected and improve it."

"We're excited for AFC, grateful for the grant provider, and pleased that ClientTrack had a part in this," said Steve Addicott, DSI's Executive Vice President. "AFC is an extremely valuable asset for Chicago and the entire nation in improving the lives of so many people affected by HIV/AIDS. This generous grant and AFC's use of collaborative technology will continue to expand their influence and industry leadership."
