ProactiveNet to Integrate Inxight StarTree Visualization Software Into Business Services Management Solution

OEM Agreement for Tree-Based Visualization Software Seamlessly Links Top-Down View of Business Services With IT Infrastructure Performance

ProactiveNet's integration of Inxight's StarTree hyperbolic tree technology will provide two new types of top-down, service-oriented visualizations: the SLA (service level agreement) View for business and IT executives, and the Operations View for IT Operations management and technicians. The new visualization capabilities, along with additional user interface enhancements, will appear in ProactiveNet 7.0, the next major release of ProactiveNet's award-winning BSM solution, targeted for Q1 2006.

Through the integration of Inxight's StarTree technology, ProactiveNet users will be able to view hierarchical relationships between the real-time status of service level agreements and the supporting IT infrastructure performance. Status changes to SLAs and/or infrastructure performance and availability are highlighted, and enable users to drill down to areas of interest. Hierarchies are laid out in a uniform way on a hyperbolic plane, which are mapped onto a circular display region. Users can instantly see if, and where, there is a performance problem anywhere within the infrastructure and then click to find the root cause of the problem. The displays are highly customizable, and enable users to create views from the perspective of IT groups or business unit owners.
