Procera Networks Introduces New OptimANA Application Networking Architecture and OptimANA Convergence Platform Series

Several New OEM Partners Validate New CP3600 Platform as Industry's First Open Solution for Integrated Application-Oriented Networking and Security

LOS GATOS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 19, 2005 -- Procera® Networks, Inc. (OTC BB: PRNW), a pioneering developer of optimized network security and compliance systems, announced its new OptimANA™ application networking architecture. Procera also unveiled its new OptimANA Convergence Platform Series as the first open platform to address the rapidly emerging multi-billion dollar market for application-oriented networking and security.

Using Procera's OptimANA platform, network-centric software application and appliance developers can easily leverage Procera's integrated networking, security and compliance technologies to enhance their existing offerings with multi-gigabit throughput and other advanced capabilities. Solution providers can rapidly and cost-effectively address their markets with a converged platform that is tightly integrated with their existing application or appliance solution and Procera's patent-pending, policy-driven, intelligent networking engine.

"Until now, developers of networking and security software and appliances have not had an easy or affordable way to extend the functionality, performance and market reach of their solutions without developing expensive ASIC-based systems or retooling their designs to work on proprietary platforms," said Mark Fabbi, Vice President and Distinguished Analyst for Gartner. "As the requirements for policy-based security, application-oriented intelligence and compliance process automation converge with conventional networking and security functions, integrated systems with multi-function capabilities offer great value to enterprises seeking to reduce their total cost of IT operations."

Procera has established its OptimANA Alliance Program to provide technical, business and marketing resources to systems developers interested in rapid development of converged solutions. Procera's OptimANA architecture and new OptimANA CP3600 systems have been validated by several new members of Procera's alliance program, including PortWise, a developer of multi-factor SSL VPN secure application access software, Netintact, a developer of modular traffic management systems, and SolutionInc, a developer of high-speed Internet provisioning, authentication and billing software.

Procera's new OptimANA CP3600 platform integrates Procera's OptimIP™ intelligent networking engine with a standard Intel CPU-based server in a tightly integrated software and hardware architecture within a single form factor. The OptimANA CP3600 platform enhances the performance and scalability of applications while addressing the business requirements for broadband throughput and user-level security.

"The convergence of Procera's open application-oriented networking platform with secure access, traffic management, provisioning and other networking and security systems promises unprecedented functionality and reduced complexity for cost-effective IT operations," said Dr. Anil K. Sahai, Executive Vice President and CTO of Procera Networks. "No other networking or security platform offers such a rich set of secure, policy-based application-oriented networking capabilities."

To enable network-centric application developers to integrate their offerings on Procera's OptimANA CP3600 platform, Procera will make available its open OptimANA XML application programming interface (API), which provides easy-to-use programming access to Procera's OptimANA platform and policy engine.

Procera's OptimANA XML application programming interface software and OptimANA reference platforms are available immediately to qualified systems developers. The initial OptimANA CP3600 platform based on Procera's OptimANA system design is slated for first customer availability in Q4 2005.
