Procera's Next-Generation PacketLogic Products Deliver New Levels of Bandwidth Control and Service Management to Montpelier Vermont's High-Density Wireless Network

Wireless Integration Service Provider Summit Technologies Says "PacketLogic Virtually Stops Support Calls!"

LOS GATOS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 30, 2006 -- Procera® Networks, Inc. (OTCBB: PRNW), a pioneering developer of optimized network security and compliance systems, announced that Summit Technologies, a leading wireless solutions provider, is using Procera's PacketLogic flow-based intelligent network traffic and service management system. Summit has deployed PacketLogic to manage wireless bandwidth down to the user level and provide vital usage statistics for Vermont capital Montpelier's MontpelierNet citywide wireless network.

Summit Technologies, a leading Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) serving the New England Area, has replaced MontpelierNet's expensive T1 connectivity with an advanced wireless network controlled by PacketLogic. The PacketLogic system manages wireless bandwidth and provides secure access for local businesses, city services, such as Montpelier's Kellogg-Hubbard Library wireless network and its online library, and the State Government of Vermont, including wireless hotspots for the Vermont State House and the Vermont State Library.

Summit Technologies determined that Procera's PacketLogic system offers unique capabilities to allocate wireless bandwidth across multiple businesses with different tiers of service as well as to monitor bandwidth consumption by individual users. For example, support personnel use the PacketLogic Statistics module to confirm that an individual user is consuming inordinate amounts of bandwidth with non-business uses such as Kazaa P2P downloads or MP3 video streaming.

"Procera's PacketLogic is the only network device we have found with flow-based versus packet-based control that enables us to manage, control and monitor multi-tiered services on our high-speed wireless network," said Johannes Jobst, CTO of Summit Technologies. "PacketLogic has virtually eliminated our support calls with its accurate enforcement of service level agreements and added protection from DoS and DDoS attacks. When a customer does call with a support issue we can quickly identify the root cause of the issue through both the real-time and historical statistics provided by the PacketLogic system and determine the appropriate course of action. Ironically, in most cases, we had to inform our customer that someone within there network was downloading a huge file from a TFTP server, for example, or a combination of users were all listening to Internet radio stations which was impacting their mission critical applications from functioning properly. In addition, PacketLogic's reporting functions are exceptional -- the first thing I do each morning is look at the PacketLogic system to monitor network health, and see who is using and has been using the most bandwidth."

MontpelierNet is a community consumer cooperative created to help bring affordable, high-speed Internet access to businesses, residents and visitors in the capital city. Working in conjunction with the city of Montpelier, MontpelierNet has created a wireless network that is providing Internet connectivity in the central downtown area. Currently, MontpelierNet also operates two hotspots that are available to the public, at the Vermont State House and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. By pooling the buying power of the co-op members, MontpelierNet can offer substantial savings. Because the co-op operates for the benefit of the members, as the network grows, future savings will flow through to the members.

"We are excited to deliver PacketLogic's exceptional capabilities for wireless network management and other critical bandwidth management requirements to customers in the U.S. market," said Gary J. Johnson, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Procera Networks. "Our next-generation PacketLogic intelligent network traffic and service management system, in the hands of uniquely qualified integrators like Summit Technologies, can drive the widespread business adoption for high density wireless networks."

About PacketLogic

PacketLogic™ is a flow-based intelligent network traffic and service management system. The core of the product suite is the identification engine DRDL™ (Datastream Recognition Definition Language) that provides the most accurate network traffic identification available today. DRDL performs deep flow inspection (DFI) to aggregate granular flow properties. The data from DRDL is utilized by the five PacketLogic modules -- Surveillance (real-time traffic monitoring), Traffic Shaping (bandwidth management), Firewall (granular Layer 7 filtering), Statistics (traffic analyzing) and the Service Management module NetAccess. PacketLogic was launched in October 2001 and is currently deployed at more than 150 service providers (xSPs) and telcos worldwide.
