Prospective Dermacare Franchisees Gain Easier Access to SBA Loans

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 28, 2006 -- Prospective physician franchisees of Dermacare Laser & Skin Care Clinics® will find it easier to acquire Small Business Administration (SBA) financing before opening a clinic. Effective immediately, the SBA has approved Dermacare, the only physician-based laser aesthetic skin care franchisor in the nation, to be listed on its Franchise Registry. The registry is an online listing of franchise systems whose franchisees receive expedited loan processing.

"This is a significant opportunity for prospective clinic owners to receive better service and faster loans through the SBA," says Carl Mudd, Dermacare founder and CEO. "The listing should also help us proceed even more aggressively with our nationwide expansion plans, because the SBA has just cut a lot of red tape for potential franchise owners."

The typical Dermacare clinic investment totals $500,000, half of which goes toward laser equipment. This portion is usually 100 percent financed over five years, with a $1 buyout. The other $250,000 goes toward the franchise fee ($75,000); all non-laser office equipment; build-out costs (if any); $20,000 toward a grand-opening marketing campaign; and operating expenses for the first 90 days. Eighty percent of this amount typically can be financed.

Dermacare secured contractual commitments for seven new clinics throughout the country in the second quarter of 2006, bringing the total number of Dermacare clinics to 148. All Dermacare clinics offer Cutera's unique 3D for Skin Rejuvenation, which includes FotoFacial™ for tone (reducing brown spots and sun damage), Laser Genesis to improve texture (shrink pore size and improve fine lines and wrinkles) and Titan™ (to firm up sagging skin and fine lines).

Other services include BOTOX Cosmetics®, dermal fillers Restylane® and Radiesse™, laser hair and vein removal, laser wrinkle and acne scar reduction, microdermabrasion, BLU-U® acne light treatment and laser tattoo removal.
